Peter Keegan (Waikato-Maniapoto, Ngati Porou) received his PhD in Applied Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington in 2003. He coordinated the M膩ori language developments of Project asTTle (Assessment Tools for Teaching and Learning). Peter鈥檚 research interests include M膩ori language (in particular M膩ori word formation and changes in M膩ori pronunciation), M膩ori and indigenous-medium education and M膩ori achievement (in both English and M膩ori-medium contexts). He is also interested in research methods in M膩ori and indigenous education, especially involving measurement and quantitative approaches. He is a senior lecturer in Te Puna W膩nanga, the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland.
