The course is perfectly designed for patenting in the biotechnology field with detailed patent searching tools and databases. I highly recommend this course.

A really good course if you have access to all of the required content and textbook, very comprehensive. Before you start/pay definitely make sure you have access to SciFinder and possibly Derwent (although this second one isn't essential, just helpful) as well as access to the Patenting in Biotechnology textbook they describe as some of the required assignments to pass need them.
I know so much more about biotechnology patents after taking this course, really pleased with how much I have learnt. Some of the peer-reviewed assignments were poorly explained/too difficult for the wrong reasons however.

More information about unlicensed databases such as Pubchem, chemspider and more about patentscope handling. Vedios based on patentscope search .

Excellent course but some parts require access to paywall resources without enabling that access. Not everyone is a student.

Some of the quiz and homework questions are from 2016 and therefore a bit obsolete. Apart from that a nice beginner's course

- half of the course is based on the book that is impossible to get anywhere in the world... - assignments and tasks are often based on things that were not covered before (or maybe they were, but in the book) - Sometimes the questions in assignments are left with no space to answer and then the student is forced to get 0 point for the lack of the answer. Quite often the instructions are unclear, especially in weeks 3-4.

Good insight on Intellectual properties for Chemist and Health Care Proffessionals. The communication with the peer and teachers is not that well, since nobody seems to participate on the forum.
Some of the materials are not available for everyone (hard copy) or online.

It has great potencial, bit it assumes that people have access to paid/university resources + it ask for a book that is sold out.
Also it should be updated ... a biotech course that is 5 years old is practically obsolete

El curso es muy bueno pero utilizan bases de datos como Derwent y Scifinder que son privadas y los alumnos no tienen acceso. Podr铆an usar bases de patentes de acceso libre

Useful for learning about boolean searches and use of SCifinder.

The course was informative, but all the lectures were focused towards patent searching rather than patentability on various products in biotechnology. The assignment required access to paid data bases. Quizzes were of good quality. More lectures on various biotech patents should be part of this course.

The peer review assignment in this course has proven to be one of the least effective forms of assessment I have encountered. Despite submitting my work four times, I received little to no clear feedback regarding my low scores. It was frustrating not to understand what the reviewer was specifically looking for or what areas needed improvement. This lack of constructive feedback significantly hinders the learning process. Without clear guidance, it is difficult to make meaningful changes or enhance one鈥檚 understanding of the material. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this course to either beginners or experts. The overall structure of the peer review process is inadequate and feels like a waste of time. There are better alternatives available that provide more valuable feedback and foster genuine learning.
