Voici un aper莽u de chacun de ces aspects et de leur importance dans le cadre de la transition vers des soci茅t茅s plus durables : 1. Transports Durables Les transports durables visent 脿 r茅duire les 茅missions de gaz 脿 effet de serre (GES) et la consommation d'茅nergie tout en favorisant des solutions plus 茅cologiques et efficaces pour se d茅placer. Cela inclut : Transports publics : L'augmentation des r茅seaux de transports en commun (trains, tramways, bus 茅lectriques) permet de r茅duire la d茅pendance aux v茅hicules individuels polluants. Mobilit茅 active : Encourager la marche et le v茅lo en am茅nageant des infrastructures adapt茅es comme des pistes cyclables et des trottoirs. V茅hicules 茅lectriques : L'adoption des v茅hicules 茅lectriques, hybrides ou 脿 hydrog猫ne, est essentielle pour r茅duire les 茅missions de CO2 du secteur des transports. Solutions partag茅es : Le covoiturage et les services de transport 脿 la demande (type "car-sharing") sont des alternatives 茅cologiques aux v茅hicules priv茅s. 2. B芒timents Durables Les b芒timents durables sont con莽us pour r茅duire leur impact environnemental tout au long de leur cycle de vie, de la construction 脿 la d茅molition. Les caract茅ristiques incluent : Efficacit茅 茅nerg茅tique : L'utilisation d'isolants de haute qualit茅, de fen锚tres 脿 double vitrage, et de syst猫mes de chauffage et de refroidissement 脿 faible consommation 茅nerg茅tique. 脡nergies renouvelables : L'int茅gration de panneaux solaires, de turbines 茅oliennes ou de syst猫mes g茅othermiques pour fournir une partie de l'茅nergie n茅cessaire 脿 l'茅difice. Mat茅riaux 茅cologiques : Utilisation de mat茅riaux recycl茅s, locaux et durables, comme le bois certifi茅 ou le b茅ton bas carbone. Design bioclimatique : Conception des b芒timents en fonction du climat local pour maximiser l'efficacit茅 茅nerg茅tique en utilisant des principes comme l'orientation du b芒timent, les auvents et les puits de lumi猫re naturels. 3. Construction 脡cologique La construction 茅cologique englobe un ensemble de pratiques qui visent 脿 minimiser l'impact 茅cologique de l'ensemble du processus de construction, du choix des mat茅riaux 脿 la gestion des d茅chets. R茅cup茅ration de l鈥檈au de pluie : Int茅grer des syst猫mes de collecte et de r茅utilisation de l'eau de pluie pour des usages comme l'irrigation ou les toilettes. Normes 茅cologiques : Respect des normes internationales comme la certification LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) ou la norme BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method). Les B茅n茅fices R茅duction des 茅missions de gaz 脿 effet de serre : En privil茅giant les 茅nergies renouvelables et les mat茅riaux 脿 faible empreinte carbone, ces pratiques contribuent 脿 lutter contre le r茅chauffement climatique. 脡conomie d'茅nergie et d'eau : L'efficacit茅 茅nerg茅tique et la gestion responsable des ressources permettent de r茅duire les co没ts 脿 long terme pour les usagers et les entreprises. Am茅lioration de la qualit茅 de vie : Les b芒timents durables offrent un meilleur confort thermique, une meilleure qualit茅 de l'air int茅rieur, et une lumi猫re naturelle accrue, ce qui contribue 脿 la sant茅 et au bien-锚tre des occupants. The course structure is suitable for beginners and offers clear, understandable content. However, it could be improved by incorporating quizzes and mini-projects. While the lectures and readings provided a good theoretical understanding of the subject, hands-on practice through quizzes and mini-projects would not only reinforce the learning but also make the course more enjoyable. Practical exercises help learners apply what they've learned, fostering a deeper understanding and retention of the material.

Very good course. Indeed it helps me to understand sustainability in built environment holistically. However I still need to complete another 2 courses in this specialization course; Sustainable Neighbourhoods and Sustainable Transportation Networks and Streetscapes which are not included for free enrolment in the specialization. I wonder why?

It's a very easy but clear course. I found very easy to follow even as a non-native english speaker. It was also super interesting even if it's more focused on the US method of building, in Europe some of those strategies are already in use but i guess it all depends on where and how you look at things. Btw Super approved!
